SUMMARY

Fernando Arias F. joined the firm in 2014 and became a partner in 2022. Mr. Arias is the Co-Head of the Hospitality Practice and the ARIFA Pro Bono and CSR Committee.

Mr. Arias routinely represents diverse clients on a broad range of corporate matters, including domestic and cross-border financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure projects and other corporate transactions.

He was a member of the teams responsible for the Government of Panama’s acquisition of Transporte Masivo de Panamá, S.A. (MiBus), the US$3.025 billion acquisition of Prestige Cruises International by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings and the US$926.5 Million acquisition of 30% interest in Cervecería Nacional Dominicana (CND), the leading beer company in the Caribbean, by Ambev.

As a member of the interdisciplinary Business & Corporate Law Group, Mr. Arias also works with companies seeking to establish operations in Panama. Mr. Arias advised Moody’s Corporation in the acquisition of Equilibrium Calificadora de Riesgo S.A., including advice in relation to the establishment of operations of Moody’s Corporation in Panama.

From 2012 to 2013, Mr. Arias worked in New York with Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett LLP, representing underwriters and issuers in a variety of capital markets transactions, with focus on Latin America. He is a member of the International Bar Association. He worked in our London office in 2010.
